Today we practice our melody again. Today some of my friends also played other instrument which they are suppose to play, just the c major scale, but if  they can to do their melody, they get better score. I still need to practice more. For me it is hard knowing the notes.

Today we rehearse again our melody with our music instrument. When its Kevin. A's turn, he said to Mr. Sadrakh that he cannot play the song. Then Mr.Sadrakh get angry at him because he never practice, but when its David's turn, he also can't play the song but he can play the scale, but for Kevin he cannot play his song and the scale. Then Mr. Sadrakh get angry at him, but still Kevin did some bad thing which get Mr. Sadrakh more angry. Then when its the music instrument time, I need help with my melody, so I ask Mr. Sadrakh to help me with the notes.

Today we all played our instrument for practicing our melody. I am not really good with the melody i make because i don't know how to make it to the A and E string. I still need help on it. Mr. Sadrakh, also make challenges for some of my friends because they can't do there instrument. Sometimes, Choi keep on complaining about something, like it was not fair or arguing with somebody.

Today we practice our melody that we are suppose to present. Only some of us did it because we also don't have much time.We also choose a leader in each instrument. I can't really play it yet. i can't play it in the A and E string.

Music Reflection 4 November 2010

Today we write our melody to the assessment sheet. We need to come up with a title and the lyrics are optional but if we can write the lyrics we get a better score, but i didn't write the lyrics because it is hard for me. After we re done with writing those stuff, we need to write our reflection about how we prepared the melody and more. Then Mr. Sadrakh  asked us  to read the our reflection at the date Mr. Sadrakh told us. If we didn't get it Mr. Sadrakh will minus one point from us. The he asked us about the blog. If we haven't did it he will also minus one point, so some get minus two points.

Today we have a quiz or test. It was not hard but we mostly ran out of idea if we want to get a good score because, we have to write our answer until the full line. I did until full line, but I'm not sure with my answers because i mostly ran out of ideas. Some they don't write full for their answer. Then at the end we need to write our reflection about how or feelings when we do the test.

Today Mr. Sadrakh started with asking use the pentatonic scale 1 or 2 or both 1 and 2. All of us got a chance to answer but we are suppose to memorize it. Then Mr. Sadrakh ask Choi and Nathan to write their first 4 bars of their melody. It was nice when Mr. Sadrakh play it with the keyboard. Then Mr. Sadrakh called the girls which is Tiffany and Qinthara.

Today we learn about the pentatonic scale. We learn about pentatonic scale 1 and 2. We need to memorize it and write the scale on the board. We have time to memorize the 1st scale. After a few students write it, Mr. Sadrakh called one of us to write the pentatonic scale 2. We haven't memorize it but, before i need to close my notebook I look at the scale and try to memorize it. A few minutes before its time, we have a homework to make a melody form the pentatonic scale. We also finally have our music instrument time after a long time.

Today Mr.Sadrakh  is disappointed or not satisfied with our written test score, only a few students who get a good score. Mr. Sadrakh don't want to have joke in our class anymore and concentrate more about the music theory. We were ask to write notes and the beats but for me it was hard, i need to improve more on with writing the beat of the note.

Today we redo our music assessment. We redo our slide presentation about India traditional music.We have the video know but we have to open it from email because we haven't download it, and others thought that we just search the video when we are about to present, but the one on the email needs to be open from YouTube. We still don't have picture and some of us didn't have the Q-card, but we improve our score from 6/8 to 7/8.

Today we have our slide presentation assessment. We didn't have a video and pictures, so i think we could get a lower score. Each group have their chance to ask one question. We couldn't really answer all. When we are done, Choi asked hard questions for them but he already know the answers. Choi gives information to them too by telling the group's wrong answers.

Today we practiced our slide presentation for the assessment on this Thursday. We were told to have a que card for our presentation instead of reading it from the power point presentation, but if we memorized it we can get a better score.When its our group we take turns showing our work, and we need to edit some part. We will also make a que card.

Today we have our assessment. I gave my  hard copy to Mr. Sadrakh. The we need to sing the Asian song. We did it in partners. first is our group the Indian song. It was easy but to know the melody was kind of hard. Choi did it first and his partner was Brian C. But then he choose me after the first try with Brian C. When all of use have finish their song, It was nearly lunch time so we skip our music instrument class. Before it was lunch time, Mr. Sadrakh told us who got the highest score and who get the lowest score.

today we have a written test. It was quite hard, especially the invertion. Then we learn the asian traditional music. Mr. Harry told us how to sing the song except for the Indian song.

Today we submitted our hard copy but it isn't that good, because there isn't any title of the information. Then we rehearse our music that we are gonna play with our music instrument at Monday. i chose "Potong Bebek Angsa". Everybody must do it. Our music instrument class is skip because of the rehearsal.

today we presented our power point presentation about the similarities instrument from Bali and Sumatra. It was good and we also found the story of gong or how we found gong.We didn't really found enough information because it was quite hard finding the instrument. We also find out that when we reported that there was some members which is not cooperative. We also need to print the hard copy.

Today we reported on our music project. Mr. Sadrakh also reminded us about that Thursday is the presentation about our project. Then Mr. Sadrakh ask us to answer some of the intervals and ask us about the sharps. It was kind of confusion or hard because moving the sharps from each intervals is hard. Then our music instrument class is only a few minutes because, Mr. Sadrakh  ask us the intervals.
